“Verdigris”

A bright bluish-green, poisonous patina formed by oxidation on copper, brass, or bronze surfaces when exposed to air and moisture. Historically used as a pigment in art and for medical purposes since antiquity, it was originally created by treating copper with acid, and the name derives from the Old French vert de Grès ("green of Greece").
